Gertie’s Paranormal Plantation: Tales from the Paranormal Plantation

Ok, I really like Melanie James and was excited to read this book. I enjoy the Literal Leigh Series and was excited to read a book about Gertie. Unfortunately, I wasn’t as impressed with the book as I thought I would be. Don’t get me wrong, it had some really fun moments. Gertie is hilarious and some of the stuff she blurts, is shockingly fabulous. But, it was so slow in some parts and didn’t flow as well as I would have liked. I don’t think I’ll be reading the next book in the series. But, I will continue to read

Cloak & Dagger Book Blitz

a Rafflecopter giveaway About Michel Lee King I drink copious amounts of coffee while writing light and dark fiction. It is an obsession of mine (both coffee and writing). I love to create different world people can delve into. Whether set in our world or a fantasy, I love to push my characters through experiences that most of us can relate to. We’ve all been embarrassed by our own actions. We’ve all had those moments you wish you could take back. We’ve all had the “naked on the first day of school” dream. Our idiosyncrasies are what make us human.

Painting Rainbows

Honestly, I am not a huge fan of short stories. So, when asked if I would review this book, I debated over whether or not I wanted to take the time. I really liked the cover art and the brief description. So, I decided to go for it. I thought that the author did a good job. I liked the characters and the story line was very poignant. I can’t really say more without giving things away. Personally, I like the author’s writing style, and I am interested in reading some of her other works. It looks liker her other

Darkangel (The Witches of Cleopatra Hill Book 1)

I really enjoyed this book. I got it for free on Amazon and couldn’t put it down. (Ok, I had to put it down to go to work, but I didn’t want to.) Christine Pope has built an entire background of a witch community and it’s customs that I felt were rather unique. I love that she put it within modern day society and it was completely plausible. I loved the main character, Angela. She has a good balance of knowing what is right for her and what is necessary to sacrifice for her community. The cliff hanger about killed me.
