Summary

Millions have already died, and thousands more are perishing daily. As a last ditch effort to preserve the human race, the government implements Project ELE. With the earth heating at rapid speeds, all remaining survivors are forced to turn to F.E.M.A. shelters to wait out ELE's wrath.
Fifteen-year-old Willow Mosby's life, as she knows it, ends the moment she walks through the shelter's door. Willow has to quickly adapt to the new challenges that shelter life demands, the least of which includes making new friends and working a full time job.
Soon after making an interesting discovery, Willow and her friends start exhibiting strange abilities. Seeking answers, they embark on a mission to find out what these new abilities mean and whether they are a gift or a curse.
This new adventure can send her world crashing down around her. The question is: Can Willow survive the fall?

Review

So it is the beginning of my spring break from school. Those of you who don’t know me already, I am a schoolteacher. I love vacations as anybody does. But for me, vacation equals books! Unfortunately, this vacation started with a pesky cold that required lots of rest. But, when you have lemons- make lemonade.  I took advantage of this situation, and read an entire science-fiction series.

I got the first book in the series, Project ELE, as a freebie from Kindle.  It is a young adult science fiction story. It takes place in the future during a virus epidemic. It starts out with a family trying to be enlisted in a shelter.

I devoured this book and all of the rest in the series. I love the characters and the plotline is so interesting.  If you are a fan of the Hunger Games or Divergent, this has a similar feel.  The main character is a teenage girl being forced to grow up early in an apocalyptic future.  The entire  series follows her through the difficult choices that she has to make for her family and friends.  It also has a great romantic plot line.

I read all five books in the series in under two days. I suggest you pick up the first one. It’s free on Kindle so what do you have to lose?

How far would Willow go to find the man she loves?
